Copycat Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Red Lobster Biscuits

Red Lobster biscuits (or cheddar bay biscuits) take biscuits to a whole new level, don’t you think? I mean, they have all the delicious elements of a plain old biscuits – warm, fluffy, carb-loaded and all that jazz.

But then you add in some melted butter and garlic. And how about that Parmesan? I’ve been making these biscuits for 19 years…which feels like a lifetime. But in those 19 years, I’ve tweaked here and tweaked there and now I’ve reached a point where I think they are absolutely perfect. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that even though this is a copycat Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuit recipe – these biscuits are even better than the ones you get at Red Lobster.

I’ve seen several Red Lobster biscuit recipes that call for Bisquick or garlic powder instead of fresh garlic. This recipe uses no shortcuts. Despite the ingredient list, these don’t take long to throw together, and the extra effort to make them from scratch is well worth it.

But don’t just take my word for it – give them a try to see for yourself!

I tried this for lunch today, but they didn’t turn out as I was expecting them to. They were a big doughy and heavy. I think next time I might try cutting in cold butter instead of melting, and cooking at a higher temperature to help get an initial rise. Thanks for the recipe, I love the topping!

These biscuits were amazing! I cut in the butter instead of melting it and they turned out so fluffy and light. Love this recipe!
