That is a horribly boring and uninventive name for these cookies, but it describes them perfectly. Because they really are the best. This is one of those “secret ingredient” recipes that makes all the difference. The secret ingredient you ask?
Instant vanilla pudding.
I don’t know what it is about the vanilla pudding mix. But it adds something wonderful to these cookies. They are so moist and delicious!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 pkg instant vanilla pudding
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Sift flour and baking soda, set aside.
- Cream butter, brown sugar, and white sugar.
- Beat in pudding mix.
- Stir in eggs and vanilla.
- Blend in flour mixture gradually.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350°F for 10 to 12 minutes.
